How to Make a Columbia Street

I am so in love with this drink that I had to cut all the other videos in line to be published just to share this one with you right now. This week, I was lucky enough to have a private tasting with Cutwater Spirits here in San Diego (formerly Ballast Point). While I’ve had many of their products before and have been a big fan, I got to try their full line and have a new love– their Barrel Rested Old Grove Gin. Good lord, this stuff is beautiful. You still get the juniper, coriander, and rose flavors of the classic Old Grove Gin, but they’re wrapped in the warmth of cinnamon and oak. It’s all the things I love about gin combined with my favorite elements of bourbon just wrapped into one unique bottle. I loved it so much that my rep kindly gifted me the bottle at the end of our tasting. All I could think about was getting home & making a gin Manhattan variation with it. I chose Carpano Antica as the vermouth for its vanilla notes to complement the herbal qualities of the gin. I hope you dig this one as much as I do.
