Mint Julep
1/4 oz simple syrup
2 oz Kentucky bourbon
8 mint leaves
Angostura bitters (optional)

Muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a rocks glass or julep cup with crushed ice. Add the bourbon and mound the glass with more crushed ice. Add bitters to taste.
