The Rangoon Gimlet is a winner cocktail, you can call it tiki, or call it a gin daiquiri, whatever makes you feel better. But, the only thing that’s gonna make you feel better is a few of these.
The difference between this gimlet and a true gimlet (or gin sour) is the balance towards alcohol and ice. You’ll want crushed ice, for plenty of dilution because you’re balancing 3 oz of gin against 2 ounces of sweet and one ounce of sour. So, it won’t be too sour, nor too too sweet, but it will creep up on you (sorta like Dan does in this video).
The Rangoon Gimlet
– 3 oz Gin
– 2 oz Simple Syrup
– 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
– 2 dashes angostura bitters
– 2 cups fresh ice (crushed)
