During these conversations I have asked him multiple times which of your original cocktails do you like the most?
His answer, each time, has been two of his cocktails. One of those cocktails is always the Black Orchid.
A pretty simple cocktail with a unique ingredient that could definitely turn some people off.
Today we’re going to explore this cocktail and this rare ingredient, break it down, and show how easy it really is.
So let’s do this!
1 oz (30 ml) Overproof Demerara Rum
1 oz (30 ml) Aged Jamaican Rum
1 oz (30 ml) Black Orchid Spice*
1 oz (30 ml) Passionfruit Syrup
1 oz (30 ml) Orange Juice
1 oz (15 ml) Lime Juice
Garnish: mint sprig and a cinnamon stick

1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
1 cup Water
2 tbsp Blackstrap Molasses
